About Me

Nicole earned her Bachelors of Arts in Speech and Language Pathology from St. Joseph’s College. She began her speech therapy clinical work in a hospital specializing in patients with aphasia. Following her time in speech therapy, Nicole was a substitute teacher at a public elementary school. It was during that time she discovered her life’s work, teaching children. She decided to pursue her Masters in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages (“TESOL”), focusing on the challenges she saw English Language Learners (“ELLs”) facing in literacy development. After completing a masters program at Long Island University she taught literacy to kindergarten through fifth grade at a public school in a lower-income neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.

My Tutoring Service

She specializes in teaching reading, writing and supporting students with language-based learning struggles. She has over 7 years experience teaching in the NYC public school system, providing children with the tools they need to reach their fullest potential. She also remotely taught English to Chinese-speaking students in Beijing. Nicole believes consistency breeds confidence. Therefore, she works hard to earn the trust of her students so they are motivated to show up for themselves everyday and never give up. Seeing her students improve is what makes her work so meaningful.
